WWF7: Strong Dutch delegation joins World Water Forum with positive message: Be prepared
A delegation of 70 Dutch water experts will participate in the 7th edition of the World Water Forum that will take place in Daegu and Gyeongju, Korea from 13 to 17 April.
The Dutch delegation will contribute to over 40 high-level meetings, forums, scientific sessions and side events.
Theme of this year's World Water Forum is Water for Our Future. Over 30,000 water professionals from all over the world are expected to join the forum and their key interest will be the Sustainable Development Goal nr.6 on water. The United Nations is expected to adopt this post-2015 goal in September.
Dutch message: be prepared
The world can prepare itself for the looming water crises, whether it is too much water, too little water or too polluted water. This is the good news the Dutch delegation will bring to Korea.
As one of the safest river deltas in the world and having a highly efficient water supply, the Netherlands has a lot of knowledge and experiences to share.

Monday 13 April
● Dutch Water Authorities participate in an initiative by the OECD on water governance
● Minister Melanie Schultz van Haegen joins a high-level meeting on water security and sustainable growth
● Icomos organises a session on the heritage of water management and the potential water damage to culture heritage, for instance by floodings
● Netherlands Water Pavilion (booth B330, hall F1) hosts a networking reception where everybody is welcome to meet the delegates and learn more about the Dutch water expertise

Tuesday 14 April
● Water Diplomacy Consortium will share its experience on creating a dialogue to convert a conflict over water into constructive cooperation.
● City of Rotterdam will contribute to contribute to a European regional sub session on making cities more resilient, suing the concept of 'Living with water'
● Netherlands Water Partnership organises the session Linking Science and Technology for managing global water
● Netherlands Water Partnership organises a session on the latest developments to monitor the quality of fresh water resources on different geographic scales (from local to global)
Wednesday 15 April
● Women for water partnership will share the outcome of a pre-conference meeting at a special high-level session on gender equity for a water-secure world.
● Water Footprint Network holds several sessions including one on improving water-efficiency in cities, energy sector and industry.
Well attended welcome reception in the Netherlands Water Pavilion during the previous World Water Forum in Marseille, France in 2012.
Thursday 16 April
● Unesco-IHE is co-organiser of a session that focusses on the need to educate more water professionals that are desperately needed for the implementation of the ambitious global water goals.
● Alterra Wageningen University and Deltares organise a session on how to develop a long term plan for disaster risk reduction, creating flexibility for investments on measures to increase resiliency
