The first delegations for the 3rd Amsterdam International Water Week started to arrive in the Netherlands.

Next week over 18.000 water professionals from 83 countries are expected to gather in Amsterdam and attend the Aquatech water technology trade exhibition and the two-day international conference on circular economy and resilient cities.

The fully packed programme in a nutshell:

Sunday, 1st November
● public kickoff event Rainproof
The Amsterdam Rainproof initiative organises this special public event on the Dam square in the hearth of Amsterdam city on Sunday afternoon from 2.00 - 3.30 p.m. to address the issues urban resilience and rain water harvesting.
● introduction day Young water professionals
A team of young water professionals have organised a full week programme for enthusiastic students, recent graduates and young professionals between 22 and 35 years old. The first day starts with a meeting and a visit to the city.

opening and awards ceremonies
A festive ceremony will start the week with keynote speakers including EU environmental commissioner Karmenu Vella and Dutch minister Melanie Schultz van Haegen of infrastructure and environment.
During the ceremony the winners will be announced of both the Sarphati Sanitation Award and the Aquatech Innovation Award.
platform meetings
Netherlands Water Partnership hosts three platform meetings for specially invited delegates on water projects in Kenya, Ghana and Rwanda.
living lab
Excursions include visits to municipal waste water treatment plant Amsterdam-West and industrial waste water treatment plant of Heineken brewery.

two-day international conference
At 9.00 the conference starts with a key-note session, including president Andrew Steer of the World Resources Institute (USA) and Chief Executive Peter Joo Hee Ng, of PUB national water agency (Singapore).

Aquatech trade exhibition
At 10.00 the gates to the show floor will open for the 25th edition of the Amsterdam. Some 850 exhibitors show their latest water technology products and services. New are the Aquatech Venture Forum, Industrial User Experience, Storm Water Pavilion, BlueTech Research Innovation Pavilion.

industrial users experience
At 10.30 (hall 7, booth 07.380) the first speaker, Arian Nijmeijer of Royal Dutch Shell, will start of the first day's sessions for the oil & gas industry. Nijmeijer will share his insights on the use of ceramic membranes.
On Wednesday the live presentations will be on food & beverage, on Thursday on chemical & mining and on Friday on Boiler feed & Cooling water.
career event
a full day of valuable workshops, presentations and tips & tricks for students and young water professionals to increase their chances on the labour market.

world championships pipefitting
From 10.15 - 13.00 (Hall 7 - Stand number 07.500) the world's best fitters in the water industry will compete for the world championships.
leaders forums
At 14.25 three leaders forums starting simultaneously with renowned high level executives from all over the world. The forums will be on resilient cities, utilities and industry.
Wetskills NL2015
Closing ceremony of the international conference and announcement of the winning team of the Wetskills NL2015 challenge for students and young professionals who compete in teams to develop an innovative concept for five case studies to create solutions for water issues in a changing world.

Aquamatch
Fourth edition of the match making events for water technology companies to find international business partners for cooperation on r&d and international funding calls.
Dutch delta congress
The annual Dutch congress on river delta management takes place in Den Bosch and AIWW-participates can join the special sessions on international water governance in the afternoon. Transport is provided.
living lab
Excursions to the-of-the-art Dutch water treatment plants, including a Nereda and a Six/CeraMac plant.

Friday, 6 November
last day
Closure of the Aquatech trade exhibition at 17.00
living lab
excursion to Leeuwarden water campus where innovation, education and entrepreneurship on water technology is combined. In the vicinity of the campus are several demo sites where new treatment technologies are tested under real circumstances.
