Starting a career in water technology?

It is expected that there will be enormous shortage ofwater technology experts worldwide in the near future. Most companies already experience difficulties in finding qualified staff . Economic development in many parts of the world will lead to a strongly increased need for clean water, putting a high pressure on the existing natural resources. Wetsus and its participating companies and research institutes are aiming to contribute substantially to the solution of these global water problems.

Joint programme of three universities

The Wetsus Academy, which is part of Wetsus, offers a unique opportunity for graduates holding a BSc in Environmental technology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or related fields. The specialization is a joint programme of three very renowned and highly ranked Dutch universities: University of Groningen, WageningenUniversity and the University of Twente. These three universities have combined their state-of-the-art expertise in a single track.

The track is a two-year programme with the focus on the development and design of all kinds of water processes. The main added value of the programme lies in the multidisciplinary use of biotechnology, chemical engineering and separation technology. The aim of this specialization is to integrate knowledge of several disciplines, based on physical, (micro) biological, chemical and electrochemical principles.

Students are challenged with examples and case studies of real (research) problems that they might encounter as water professionals.

Graduates are emplyed

The MSc track prepares students for a professional position in the broad area of Watertechnology. Graduates will be employed as water specialists in various business positions, as entrepreneurs or as PhD students.

As a PhD student at Wetsus you get a chance to grow with an innovative, dynamic and future orientated top research institute. You can accelerate in the development of new water technology in cooperation with prominent companies and universities.
