The next edition will take place in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, from 30 October-3 November 2017.

AIWW Conference 'Water.. and 9 billion people'
‘Water...and nine billion people’ is the subject of the Amsterdam International Water Week Conference. How do we achieve a safe, clean and sustainable water future in high-density living areas?

The conference focusses on the ambition to achieve breakthroughs in real-life water challenges, in particular in densely populated areas: from water shortage to floods, and climate change to medication in waste water. Cities, industries and water companies have contributed issues they want to resolve. At AIWW, these will be linked to solutions by experts and innovative technologies. Transition to circular economy
The last edition took place in 2015 and focused on the transition to a circular economy and resilient cities. Because of the participation of so many experts, we have taken great steps towards this goal.

As AIWW chairman Lennart Silvis said in his closing statement: "The workshops and sessions at the AIWW conference are part of a process, which will continue until the next Amsterdam International Water Week."

"We are very proud that so many international water professionals joined us for the Amsterdam International Water Week 2015. Over 1100 delegates took part in the Amsterdam International Water Week conference, and some 25.000 water professionals visited the Aquatech Exhibition", Silvis said.

The wide and varied conference programme covered issues and challenges ranging from green roofs to smartphone detection of leaks, and will forge links between water and sanitation, flood and coastal management, food, agriculture, finance and governance.

Fresh ideas
The Amsterdam International Water Week (AIWW) is the platform for new alliances and fresh ideas: connecting industry, science, business, policy and technology.

The event crosses borders between water and sanitation, delta technology, food, agriculture, finance and governance. Thus bringing together a unique mix of professionals conducive to the transition to a circular economy and resilient cities.

Part of the event is the world leading Aquatech Amsterdam trade exhibition on water technology.
