IFAT 2018 trade show on environmental technology

IFAT 2018 takes place in Munich, Germany from 14-18 May 2018. IFAT is the world’s leading trade show on environmental technology, including innovations and services in water, sewage, waste and raw materials management. The previous edition in 2016 attracted 3,097 exhibitors from 59 countries and 138,000 visitors from 170 countries.

IFAT, the world’s leading trade fair for environmental technology in three sectors: recycling, water, sewage and resources.

In 2018, the world’s biggest environmental technology trade fair will again be taking up all the available exhibition halls and a part of the open-air site at Messe München—in total 230,000 square meters.

The water sector is traditionally a broad-based sector at IFAT, showing all aspects of modern water and waste water management flow together.

Previous edition
The previous IFAT in 2016 was attended by 38,000 visitors from over 170 countries who came to Munich for the 50th anniversary edition. The visitors saw the latest environmental technology products and services of 3097 exhibitors from 59 countries.

After Germany, the top ten countries of origin among the visitors were: Austria, Italy, Switzerland, China, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Denmark and Turkey. Strong growth on the visitor side was noted from Australia, China, Israel, Italy and Singapore. The overall proportion of visitors from outside Germany was 47 percent.

Water technology section
This trade show, with its coverage of water, sewage, waste and raw materials management, identifies strategies and applications for using resources in intelligent cycles in order to preserve those resources for the long term.
