The Water Operators Partnership (WOP) project is intitiated in close cooperation with Vitens Evides International who asked Datawatt to  implement a SCADA telemetry system for District Metered Areas (DMAs) operated by the municipal water company DWASA.

Last year Datawatt delivered data loggers and a web-based SCADA application to monitor the metered areas of DWASA.

Employees of Datawatt trained the local DWASA-staff to work with the equipment, using the data to optimize the drinking water distribution and to have the right and current information for the optimal use of the infrastructure.

New webportal
The installed telemetry Scada-system will now be expanded with Stream, the new central system and web portal from Datawatt. Additionally the telemetry network will be expanded to more locations.

Director Roy Gerding of Datawatt (top photo third left): "Bangladesh is a very interesting country to explore. The partnerships are certainly an added value for the realization of the projects."

The WOP project provides an integrated approach for improving the water supply, sanitation and hygiene promotion (WASH) in the low income areas in the city of Dhaka, where approximately 3.5 million people still live below the poverty line.
