ADAPTS project

The ADAPTS project aims at meliorating the impacts of climate change through increasing developing countries’ adaptive capacities by achieving the inclusion of climate change and adaptation considerations in water policies, local planning and investment decisions. In order to achieve this overall goal, the project aims at the following themes: Dialogue and Local action.

Goals

Reducing the impacts of climate change through the inclusion of climate change and adaptation considerations in water policies, local planning and investment decisions.

To show that adaptation is already happening on the local scale, and that local schale measures enable effective responses to climate change.

  • An approach to effectively include climate change and adapta
  • Field pilots to test sustainability of adaptive measure(s)

Impact

Concrete adaptive measures in the water sector have been implemented in Ethiopia, Ghana, Peru and Vietnam, and are evaluated on their sustainability. We include physical and socio-economic impacts.
