BAM upgraded live petrochemical jetty in harbour Cilegon, Indonesia
BAM International - the operating construction company of Royal BAM Group that is active outside Europe - has completed the upgrade of a live petrochemical jetty in Cilegon, West Java.
Without affecting the chemical plant production for client Chandra Asri and despite rough weather conditions during the construction period, BAM’s Indonesian subsidiary completed the work within the expected time frame.
Upgrading dolphins
Throughout the execution stage, vessels were able to berth for loading and offloading Chandra Asri’s various petrochemical products.
Works focused on nine dolphins, one of which was completely reconstructed. The other eight were upgraded.
Elementary school
Besides building a jetty for the petrochemicals company, BAM’s project team has left the community of Cilegon another lasting reminder of its presence: a classroom for a local elementary school and a badminton court.
A local contractor was engaged to build an extra classroom and the sports facilities for Elementary School No. 4 in the nearby town of Anyar.
