IWA Water and Development Congress & Exhibition 2025
From 8 to 12 December 2025, Bangkok will host the IWA Water and Development Congress & Exhibition at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. Organised by the International Water Association (IWA) and co-hosted by the Asian Institute of Technology, the congress will gather a global audience of water professionals, government representatives, academics, and practitioners. The 2025 edition builds on the achievements of the previous congress in Kigali, Rwanda, which placed water, sanitation, and climate resilience in low- and middle-income countries firmly on the international agenda.

Thematic programme
The programme will cover a broad range of issues that are central to sustainable water management. Themes include safe drinking water, wastewater treatment and sanitation, smart water management, utility management and operations, and the governance and financial systems that enable long-term development. In addition to the technical programme, the congress will feature an international exhibition as well as a number of forums and special platforms. One of these; ‘’From Land to Sea: Tackling Pollutants, Protecting Health, and Restoring Ecosystems’’, will bring together different perspectives on water and environmental challenges.
Dutch participation: Netherlands Lounge
The Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP) will host a Netherlands Lounge on the exhibition floor, where Dutch SMEs and knowledge institutes will be present. The Lounge will serve as a meeting point to exchange knowledge and engage with international counterparts. Booth coordination will be provided by NWP, in cooperation with the Dutch Embassy in Thailand, PIB Water Thailand, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. The Dutch contribution will also feature a joint panel session in the Business Forum and a networking reception.
