COP17 – UN Biodiversity Conference 2026
This October, the international biodiversity community will gather in Yerevan, Armenia, for COP17, UN Biodiversity Conference 2026. The Netherlands will host a Netherlands Pavilion, with a strong focus on biodiversity finance and the water–biodiversity–food nexus.
About COP17 – UN Biodiversity Conference 2026
COP17 will be the first Biodiversity COP to include a Global Review of progress in implementing the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. This puts progress, monitoring and implementation at the heart of the conference. Governments, businesses, knowledge institutions and civil society will come together to advance global biodiversity action.
The Netherlands Pavilion
As a densely populated delta, the Netherlands has extensive experience in connecting water management, nature, food production and economic development.
The Netherlands Pavilion will host more than 60 sessions and presentations on biodiversity, finance, water management and sustainable development. It offers international visitors an opportunity to:
- discover practical approaches and solutions;
- exchange knowledge with Dutch and international experts; and
- meet potential partners from government, business, research and civil society.
Sessions will not be recorded or livestreamed. Translation services will not be available.

Access
The Netherlands Pavilion is located in the Blue Zone and is only accessible to accredited and registered COP17 participants. Accreditation must be arranged through a contracted party or organisation with observer status. The Pavilion organisers cannot assist with registration or accreditation. Organisation
The programme at the Netherlands Pavilion is coordinated by Partners for Water, the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
