Dutch buzzword at Stockholm water week will be sustainable water services
Again a large delegation of Dutch water experts will attend the Stockholm World Water Week 2014 that will take place from 31 August till 5 September.
The World Water Week in Stockholm involves more than 200 organisations collaborating on over 100 seminars, scientific workshops, high level panel debates, award ceremonies and social activities
Over 2,500 experts from all over the world gather at this annual focal point for the globe’s water issues since 1991.
This year, the theme of the 2014 World Water Week in Stockholm is ‘Energy and Water’,
Sustainable water services
Several Dutch organisations co-organize seminars on various water issues. An emerging issue in the annual Dutch contribution to the Stockholm Water Week is the attention for sustainable water services.
Investments in new water facilities have proven not to be enough, when its local users lack the capability and finance to keep their new facilities up and running.
Many Dutch experts will focus their contribution on reliable and affordable drinking water supply and adequate water related hygiene, based on effective business models.
