Singapore International Water Week 2026
Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) will return as a leading global platform for urban water innovation and climate resilience. Taking place from 15 to 19 June 2026, the event will bring together international policymakers, financial institutions, utilities, municipal representatives, and water sector experts to exchange knowledge and promote solutions to key water challenges.
The Netherlands Pavilion
The Dutch government programme, Partners for Water, will host the Netherlands Pavilion at SIWW 2026, held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore. The Pavilion will present Dutch expertise in areas including:
- Integrated and smart water management
- Water technology
- Coastal protection
- Climate resilience
The Pavilion will function as a focal point for international collaboration, strategic engagement, and visibility for Dutch companies and knowledge institutions.
Lee Kuan Yew Water Prize
Awarded annually during SIWW, the Lee Kuan Yew Water Prize (LKYWP) is recognised as one of the foremost international honours in the water sector. Since its establishment in 2008, the Prize has recognised significant contributions in water technologies, policies, and management that have had a substantial impact on communities worldwide.
Named in honour of Singapore’s founding Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew, the award reflects his vision for sustainable water management.
In 2024, Professor Gertjan Medema of the KWR Water Research Institute received the Prize for his work in wastewater-based epidemiology, which enabled global wastewater surveillance during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2020, Professor Kazuo Yamamoto of the University of Tokyo became the first Asian recipient, recognised for developing the submerged membrane bioreactor, a technology now applied internationally, including in Singapore’s NEWater production.
