Kenya Innovative Finance Facility for Water (KIFFWA) is a co-developer of water initiatives in Kenya. We provide early-stage capital, finance, and technical expertise to support the creation of viable water investment opportunities and attract (private) providers of finance.

Royal Eijkelkamp - The Water Entrepreneur Project of the Royal Eijkelkamp Foundation

Royal Eijkelkamp is a 100 year old Dutch family owned company specialised in all aspects of soil and water management. We are on track to become the world's preferred supplier of solutions - including one-stop solutions - for soil and water projects. More information on Royal Eijkelkamp. 

The Eijkelkamp Foundation has created the Water Entrepreneur Project in North-Benin (West Africa). Within this project we want to focus on three goals:  Building 160 Water Access Points (WAP’s) complete with payment system in North-Benin. Training 40 unemployed, young people, (also woman) who will have to manage, operate and maintain these WAP's. The Water Entrepreneurs also have to show water users that clean water is essential for health and development (WASH principles) The combination of technical and social innovation is what makes this project so special.

For different FSM technologies, we focus on the economics and finances, but also on quantities recovered, scaling models, moisture content and water usage (directly related to conference aims). Partners present ‘elevator pitches’ of FM-relevant activities in topic area.

Water, Peace and Security - Networking reception

The reception provides experts like you with an opportunity to network and informally discuss the links between water resources and security, water-related security challenges and ways to address them through coherent and integrated policy choices.

The reception will also be an opportunity for an update on the Water, Peace and Security project and its work on identifying water-related security risks and potential conflicts through large-scale data analysis and modelling and machine learning, comprehensive case study analysis,as well as integrated policy approaches for the diplomacy, the development and the defense communities.

The Water, Peace and Security partnership is a collaboration among an expanding group of organisations supported by The Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Current partners include: IHE Delft (lead), World Resources Institute, Deltares, The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies, Wetlands International, International Alert, Oregon State University, and Pacific Institute.

Water and Energy for Food – stimulating innovation and entrepreneurship in the Nexus, by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands and Sweden through Sida

Two successful challenge programmes will merge into the new Water and Energy for Food Programme (WE4F): Securing Water for Food (SWFF) focusing on the water – food nexus and Powering Agriculture – An Energy Grand Challenge (PAEGC), focusing on energy – food nexus.
It will bring successful innovations of these programmes to scale through financial brokering, technical assistance and advocacy for a supportive enabling environment.

USAID, Sweden through Sida and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands are preparing this global programme that will have a regional focus, working from regional innovator hubs in Asia, Africa and the MENA region and is due to be launched before the end of this year. You will hear the latest on this programme, and two SWFF innovators will pitch their experiences.

What is the WASH Systems Academy?

The WASH Systems Academy is a new, dynamic online learning platform to assist WASH sector professionals in applying a WASH systems strengthening approach. It's developed to empower professionals around the world with the knowledge and tools they need to create lasting water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services for all.

To ensure WASH services last, holistic thinking and strong systems in place are a necessity. Now, with the WASH Systems Academy free online courses, everyone can get to know the basics of how to deliver resilient water and sanitation services and be part of the change needed to leave no one behind. Let's build strong WASH systems together.
