Nijhuis Saur Industries has acquired PWNT, the commercial subsidiary of Dutch drinking water company PWN. PWNT specialises in purification solutions for drinking water and has offices in the Netherlands and Singapore.

Growing Interest

According to Paulien Pistor, CEO of PWN, a fast-growing interest in PWNT's technology and the opportunity to offer PWNT and it's employees a healthy future has led to the sale. In order to meet the increasing demand, PWNT needs to expand internationally and focus even more on the development and marketing of its knowledge and technology. The nature of those activities is becoming less and less compatible with PWN as a parent company. Paulien Pistor: "As PWN, we must focus on our core task: drinking water supply and management of nature reserves in the province of North Holland, the Netherlands."

One of these technologies is CeraMac, a ceramic membrane water treatment system that was developed for PWN. The technology sparked interest internationally and PWNT has completed three successful drinking water plants with their technology in the United Kingdom, Singapore and Switzerland. The ceramic membrane technology gains validation, as was also underlined at the 2021 virtual edition of the Singapore International Water Week.

Other products of PWNT include ion exchange (SIX®), inline coagulation (ILCA®) and ceramic membrane applications (CeraMac®), as well as the “Proevenloods”, the test- and optimization facility of PWNT.
